Baby fully respected at birth arrives asleep

The popular belief that a newborn baby should cry at birth is simply wrong. You only have to observe the births of other mammals in the wild to be convinced. Crying is a sign of suffering, distress and trauma. The way a baby is born is imprinted on its subconscious forever.

It has been found that, in principle, if left undisturbed, the fetus sleeps through the phase of uterine contractions that precede childbirth. We have found that children who are fully respected at birth are generally sleeping when they are born. This has been the case for nine of our eleven babies. They were sleeping soundly and remained asleep for several minutes or tens of minutes after birth.

When a child arrives in our world, it is reassured when its body is held in the fetal position, curled up against its mother’s skin. If we don’t wake him up, he continues to sleep, up to twenty minutes after birth for the longest we’ve ever known. Then he wakes up quietly, gently, without crying or screaming, but simply with curiosity and amazement at having so quickly changed universe. When he wakes up, the child is happy to be able to stretch his limbs, which were cramped in the uterus at the end of the pregnancy. For the first time in his life, the newborn opens his light-sensitive eyes to discover the new world around him.

It’s a fabulous and magical moment, for him, for us and for his brothers and sisters who have come to meet their future playmate. The baby recognizes the familiar sounds he has heard during pregnancy, especially the voices of his mother and those close to him. This serene atmosphere, in which he arrives and wakes up, immediately creates a precious and irreplaceable climate of trust.

If he is truly respected, a child feels fully welcomed.

This builds in his subconscious a deep inner peace , and real confidence in him and in life forever.

By arriving in a serene atmosphere, the newborn imbues his subconscious with the impression that our world is a favorable and welcoming place, filled with love, kindness and gentleness. At this moment of great vulnerability for the baby, who feels so fragile and at the mercy of his environment, he manages to build a precious and irreplaceable climate of trust. This very first human experience is imprinted on the baby’s entire being and initializes its cellular memory in a positive way.

Thus, when he is fully respected at the moment of his birth, a newborn baby builds up a real confidence in himself and in life, which will help them to progress throughout his life as a child and even as the adult he will become.
