Reclaiming the birth of your children

A conscious and responsible choice to offer our babies a respectful birth

In our modern times, scientific advances are seen as progress. Thus, in many countries, hospital birth has become the norm. In this context, when you do not behave “like everyone else,” it can be difficult, or even heroic, to follow your heart’s call to give your baby a birth free of violence, disruption, and the technological trappings of the medical world perceived as a guarantee of safety.

What enabled me to achieve this, whatever the cost and the context, was my awareness that, by offering my baby a birth with all the respect and love he deserved, I was helping to imprint in his subconscious a positive sense of self-confidence and confidence in life that would remain engraved in him forever. This was the inner drive that led me to adapt in all circumstances, so as to be able to welcome my baby in peace and tranquility, beyond the difficulties that sometimes presented themselves along the way. Everything else was secondary to me, especially what other people might think, or things that were supposedly mandatory or forbidden, popular beliefs that were often erroneous, socially conveyed fears, norms, psychological pressures, or doomsday scenarios.

To experience birth naturally and peacefully, I had to make the physiological phenomenon of childbirth my own. It was an apprenticeship, a discovery, an inner conquest, a victory over my own fears. It required me to trust in Life, to willingly let go of what was about to happen, and to develop a loving awareness, in awe of the beauty of the natural, quasi-miraculous phenomenon that was taking place: the coming into the world of a new human being. In this sense, a birth is a gift from the Creator, and childbirth requires learning to accompany the natural process that is now unfolding, simply, patiently, and delicately.

Birth is a sacred event that connects us to the wonder of Creation.

Trusting in Life, which, through a true miracle of nature, allows new human beings to come into the world,

aware that the way a child comes into the world reflects their relationship with the world,

aware that the way of welcoming a child at birth is deeply imprinted in them as the way the world receives them in their beginning life,

constant in the courage necessary to assume as a couple the entire responsibility of childbirth,

we decided to offer our children a birth with the Respect they deserve by choosing to welcome them in the gentleness, peace, and intimacy of our conjugal love.

The rightness of this choice has grown stronger over the births and the years.

After having welcomed eleven children in twenty years, born on four continents, the positive impact of a natural and peaceful birth has become clear to us.

Experiencing birth naturally and peacefully greatly promotes the awakening of the newborn, then the child’s self-confidence and confidence in Life, thus giving the adult-to-be the will and courage to live life to the fullest.
