To regenerate your health by living in harmony with Nature

Natural health retreats in the heart of the Andes
Outdoor health stays in rhythm with Life
Harmonious days to strengthen your body
Nature (Pangaia), Love, and Abundance (Abundancia) are the values that shape the philosophy of the ¡Viva la Vida! Center. These principles take shape in every gesture of daily life, from the moment day breaks until night falls. Here’s concretely how a stay unfolds, what the Center expects of its residents, and the living conditions you’ll experience.
The daily rhythm
Days at the Center follow an indicative outline, designed to offer a framework that’s both balancing for the body and reassuring for the mind — never a rigid mold. This rhythm draws on chronobiology and seeks harmony with the Earth’s and the cosmos’s energies, working day by day, by feel:
- 6:00–8:00 a.m.: free morning time
- 8:00–9:00 a.m.: energizing physical exercise to awaken the body’s energies, adapted to each person’s abilities: movement, strengthening, flexibility
- 9:00–10:30 a.m.: permaculture, garden care
- 10:30–11:00 a.m.: harvesting the day’s produce and preparing the first meal
- 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.: first meal, then dishes and tidying up
- 12:00–2:30 p.m.: free quiet time — gentle activities, housekeeping, laundry, reading, writing, napping
- 2:30–3:30 p.m.: physical exercise (self-massage, do-in, energy medicine, yoga)
- 3:30–4:00 p.m.: preparing the second meal
- 4:00–5:00 p.m.: second meal, then dishes and tidying up
- 5:00–6:00 p.m.: walk, hike in the mountains
- 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.: free evening time, then a restorative night’s sleep
This program remains an outline, never a constraint. In keeping with the values of Freedom and Autonomy that govern life at the Center, everyone adjusts this rhythm to how they feel in the moment: skipping the evening walk if fatigue calls for rest instead, having a piece of fruit right at waking if hunger sets in before breakfast time, extending a quiet period if the body needs it. The stay remains structured and guided — it’s not time left to chance — but that structure serves each person, never the other way around.
Permaculture, harvesting, and preparing meals together shape a good part of the day this way. To discover the reasoning behind these mealtimes and what they actually contain, I invite you to visit the dedicated page Food designed to nourish and detoxify.
Who this stay is for
The ¡Viva la Vida! Center is open to anyone able to fully take part in the physical activities of daily life: walking, gardening, household tasks. A degree of autonomy and good physical condition are necessary to manage without special assistance, though case-by-case adjustments remain possible.
Residents agree to respect how the place runs, designed above all to preserve collective harmony and support each person’s regeneration process: respecting shared quiet times, respecting the rhythm and the activities offered. All substances harmful to health are strictly prohibited at the Center. You’ll find more detail on this in the charter of simple principles for a peaceful stay.
If you decide to come stay here, it means you accept playing the game of your body’s natural regeneration — even if it takes you out of your comfort zone, even if it shakes up certainties or deeply rooted habits. Playing the game means being ready to welcome what’s new without resisting it, to take things in stride, and ultimately to reconnect with that awestruck, carefree, spontaneous child that adult life may have made you forget.

Simple, unassuming accommodation
The Center currently has a single room, with two large double beds, and offers two accommodation options: Solo, for one person, and Duo, for a couple or two close friends traveling together. The standard is simple and rustic, in keeping with the spirit of the place — a return to the essentials, a life lived mostly outdoors, in direct contact with Nature.
Located in the heart of Nature, the Center isn’t connected to any water or electrical grid. Power comes from solar panels, enough to charge phones and laptops and run basic kitchen appliances — but here you learn to live without a refrigerator, a washing machine, or a dishwasher. Internet is available through mobile data, with no Wi-Fi. This return to a simpler life is a genuine opportunity to unplug from electromagnetic waves and screens, to eat fresh food still full of vitality instead of food preserved by refrigeration, and to rediscover the simple joy of washing your clothes or dishes by hand — leaving, for the duration of your stay, an especially light footprint on the planet that welcomes us.
To discover the natural setting surrounding this place — forest, river, high altitude, gardens grown through permaculture, a pleasant climate year-round — you can visit the page A sanctuary of Nature nestled in the Bolivian Andes.
You’ll find the available dates and the rates for each formula (Discovery, Immersion, Grounding, Metamorphosis) on the Rates and dates for upcoming health stays page.
Reconnection: access reserved for returning residents
There’s a fifth way to stay at the Center, reserved exclusively for those who have already completed a three- or four-week stay here (Grounding or Metamorphosis): Reconnection. This formula offers lodging only, with no meals or guided activities — a suspended time, designed for those who already know the place and simply wish to retreat here, fully on their own.
For Reconnection residents who wish, it’s possible to exchange 1.5 hours of permaculture help alongside me, Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., for access to food grown on-site. This isn’t required — it’s simply an open door for those who feel like getting their hands back in the soil and living off the fruits of this shared work.
You’ll find the rates and availability for this formula on the Rates and dates for upcoming health stays page.
